Purpose:
To address the Oral Health needs of all citizens of Hamilton County, leveling health disparities, increasing access to care, and ensuring all an equitable opportunity for optimal oral health.
Per the ratified Hamilton County Oral Health Coalition Strategic Plan, the Coalition’s overarching goals are:
- Hamilton County Residents Will Have Improved Access to Oral Health
- Fewer People Will Seek Oral Care From the Emergency Room
- Hamilton County Will Drive Integration of Oral Health and Medical Healthcare
Establishing Authority:
Resolution adopted by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Hamilton County, Ohio, June 26, 2017.
Composition:
The Hamilton County Oral Health Coalition shall consist of six (6) at large members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners and one representative from each of the following organizations:
Cincinnati Dental Society
Cincinnati Health Department
Closing the Health Gap
Hamilton County Public Health
Health Collaborative
Lincoln Heights Health Care Connection
UC Health - Dental Center
Terms:
The directors first appointed shall serve staggered terms, as set forth in the authorizing resolution of the board of county commissioners. Thereafter, each succession shall serve for a term of four years, except that any person appointed to fill a vacancy shall be appointed to only the unexpired term. Any director is eligible for reappointment.
