Director Ralph Linne

Ralph is presently the Director of County Facilities for Hamilton County - Ohio and manages an organization of over 200 employees that maintains over 25 facilities with over 3.5 million sq. ft. This facilities group includes: property management, building maintenance, building operations, design services, construction services, procurement services, grounds & landscaping, cleaning, energy management, space planning, parking, vending/food, and security services. This department currently has an operations budget of over $30 million along with a 5-year capital budget of over $65 million.

  • Supervisor of Operational Audits – Perry Nuclear Power Plant – Kaiser Engineers
  • Senior Scheduler – Perry Nuclear Power Plant – Kaiser Engineers
  • Administrative Engineer – Perry Nuclear Power Plant – Kaiser Engineers
  • Office Engineer/Field Engineer – Zimmer Power Station – Kaiser Engineers
  • Interior Designer/Space Planner – George F. Roth & Partners, Inc. Architects

Ralph has a Masters in Business Administration from Lake Erie College, along with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and an AAS in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. 

He is an active member of USGBC, IFMA and BOMA organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area; trustee for the Ohio Public Facilities Maintenance Organization (OPFMA); and serves on the CCAO Service Corporation (CCAOSC) Natural Gas Program Board.

Ralph is certified as Level III in Homeland Security from the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute, and has achieved a Building Operator Certification – Level 1 from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC). Ralph presently teaches several Building Operator Certification courses for NEEC.

The Buildings editorial team has selected the Department of County Facilities to be included in Who’s Who 2009: Leaders in Energy Management and Sustainability. They stated “This was one of a dozen organizations whose practices in energy management and sustainability have resulted in significant reductions in energy usage and operating costs. These organizations have also anticipated the future by putting practices in place that are designed to maintain their momentum.”

In 2008 and 2009, the 800 Broadway Building received the EPA ENERGY STAR Award; in 2008 this was the only city, county or state building in Ohio to receive this. In both 2002-3 and 2005-6, buildings managed by County Facilities have won the North Central Regional TOBY Award in Government Category. In 2004, they won the Preservation Award of Merit from The Ohio Historic Preservation Office and Ohio Governor’s Award for Excellence in Energy Efficiency form the Governor’s office.

Ralph has been recognized by ARCHIBUS with his induction into the ARCHIBUS Hall of Fame as both a Lifetime Achievement Winner and as a recipient of the Platinum Circle Award.
