January 7, 2021

The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations has amended Local Rule 11.0 Court Appointment of Real Estate Appraisers to increase the fee paid for an appraisal. This amendment is effective 1/7/2021. The amended language is listed below:

11.0 COURT APPOINTMENT OF REAL ESTATE APPRAISERS - AMENDED 1/7/2021

The Court has established a panel of qualified real estate appraisers. Their service can be obtained through the Docket Office (Room 03-46). An appointee will be paid $ 450.00 for appraising a single-family residence. The appraisal of a two-family $ 500.00. The cost for appraising other structures will be determined by the appraiser. An additional cost of $50.00 per hour for time entailed in a deposition and $200.00 for each Court appearance, will also be paid. Such fees will be paid to the Clerk of Courts prior to the appointment of the appraiser.

The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2019. 


November 25, 2019

The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations will close at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. Any previously scheduled hearing will still be heard.

September 23, 2019

The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations will have an orientation and roundtable for parenting coordinators on Friday, November 8, 2019. The orientation will begin at 1:30 pm and the roundtable will begin at 2:30 pm. Per Local Rule 2.11 Parenting Coordination, parenting coordinators must complete an orientation through the Court prior to accepting any appointments. New parenting coordinators coming to the orientation are encouraged to stay for the roundtable. Parenting coordinators already on the Court’s approved parenting coordinator list are encouraged to attend the roundtable and may also attend the orientation should they desire a review of court rules and expectations. Those planning to attend must RSVP to the Dispute Resolution Department at 513-946-9079 by Friday, November 1, 2019.

The State of Ohio enacted new Child Support guidelines effective March 28, 2019. The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) is in the process of creating a child support calculator which complies with these new guidelines. This Court's website will be updated with the new calculator as soon as one becomes available. Until that time, the Court’s Self-Help Center, located on the 3rd Floor of 800 Broadway, has computers with child support calculators for use by unrepresented litigants. The Hamilton County Court of Domestic Relations in collaboration with The Children's Home unveiled the Family Visitation Center November 1, 2018 with reception. The visitation center, 5014 Madison Road, Cincinnati, is a program that will provide supervised parenting time for Hamilton County families in a safe and neutral environment. Domestic Relations Court has modified Local Rule 1.5 to indicate Motions for Attorney Fees and Motions for Guardian Ad Litem Fees do not require a filing fee. Please refer to the Forms & Procedures sections for an updated versions of the Local Rules.
